A Massachusetts Tree Wardens’ and Foresters’ Association Virtual Event on Navigating the EAB Aftermath

Emerald ash borer has changed the landscape of municipal tree management across Massachusetts. Now, communities are facing the next challenge: what to do with the ash trees left behind.

Join the Massachusetts Tree Wardens for a practical, conversation-focused virtual event designed for municipalities dealing with the aftermath of EAB.

MDAR will begin with a brief overview of emerald ash borer in Massachusetts, including treatment options and considerations for managing affected ash trees. A panel of professionals—including representatives from Eversource and National Grid, along with Tree Wardens from Sturbridge and Westborough—will then share their experiences, solutions, and resources for addressing EAB-impacted trees.

But the real value of this event will be the extended Q&A and discussion.

This is an opportunity to bring your questions, share what your community is experiencing, hear how other municipalities are approaching the challenges, and make the connections you need to move forward.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  2. Hear directly from utility representatives and municipal Tree Wardens
  3. Discuss challenges surrounding dead and declining ash trees
